JOINT BASE McGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. - Partly cloudy skies above provide Spc. Savannah McLaughlin from the 824th Quarter Master Company, based in Ft. Bragg, N.C., a perfect opportunity to hop into the turret on a M1097 HMMWV while conducting crew-served weapons training during Operation Cold Steel III, hosted by the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operation Command at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Nov. 7, 2018. Operation Cold Steel is the U.S. Army Reserve’s crew-served weapons qualification and validation exercise to ensure America’s Army Reserve units and Soldiers are trained and ready to deploy on short-notice as part of Ready Force X and bring combat-ready and lethal firepower in support of the Army and our joint partners anywhere in the world.
